Steven Levenson, M.D. is a nationally recognized physician leader, practitioner, author, and educator in long-term and subacute care. He is one of the originators of modern long-term medical direction, and has authored standard references in both medical direction and subacute care. His scope of experience covers the continuum of care of the elderly and those with chronic illnesses and disabilities, including traditional long-term care, postacute care, Assisted Living, and Day Care. He is a resource to many federal and state agencies. Since 1986, he has helped develop many of the programs and educational materials for the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA). He has received many acknowledgments and awards for his service and efforts. With over 30 years of hands-on experience and a broad range of unique publications, he provides information based on real-life situations, grounded in solid geriatrics information and broad experience in establishing and improving care delivery systems.
