Most armor in Assassin's Creed Odyssey is randomly generated. However, there are some Legendary Armor Sets that grant amazing engravings and fantastic boons. Check this page to learn how Armor works in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and how to obtain every Legendary piece of Armor in the game.

How Armor Works

Armor, like Weapons, are divided by four types of rarity. Common (gray), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), and Legendary (gold). All armor, except Legendary Armor, is randomly generated and can be obtained by looting chests and enemies and completing quests. See how they differentiate in the chart below.

Legendary Armor is special. Once you complete the full set, not only will a set bonus be activated, but every piece in the set will automatically upgrade to the highest level in the set. For example, if you have four level 10 pieces of Legendary amor, and pick up the final piece of the set at level 40, all of the pieces will automatically raise to match the final piece at level 40.

Keep in mind you can level up any piece of armor you'd like, which is well worth the trouble for pieces that give you buffs that match your playstyle. Check outEngravings to see what kind of buffs Armor can have.

Common
Rare

Commonarmor provides only one buff and one slot for an Engraving.
Rarearmor providestwo buffs and one slot for an Engraving.
Epic
Legendary

Epic'armor providesthreebuffs and one slot for an Engraving.
Legendary Armor provides onlytwobuffs, like Rarearmor, however, these are usually superior by at least one percentage more than Epic armor. They also come with a set bonus - like 15% Assassin Damage, for example - that is only activated when all five pieces are worn at once.

Legendary Armor is the only type of armor that cannot be bought or sold in stores.

How to Get Legendary Armor
