Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 12 recap
The episode opened with renowned composer Himura finally completing the new song for Ruby’s idol group, B-Komachi. With this milestone, the group was set to travel to Miyazaki to shoot their music videos.
Aqua and Akane Kurokawa joined Ruby’s group to take a break and travel after finishing their Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play. Aqua had an ulterior motive for the trip—he wanted to search for traces of his former self, Goro Amamiya, the person he was before reincarnating as Ai Hoshino’s child.

Upon arriving in Miyazaki, the group met Anemone, the video director for B-Komachi’s two new music videos. While the idols busied themselves with preparations, Aqua and Akane embarked on their own journey, exploring the area.
Aqua confided in Akane, revealing that Miyazaki was where he and Ruby had grown up. He revisited the hospital where, as Dr. Amamiya, he had treated Sarina Tendoji, who was Ruby before she reincarnated. He also inquired with the hospital staff about Amamiya’s whereabouts, only to be told that they had lost contact with him, assuming his departure was an official resignation.

Aqua then visited the site where Amamiya had been murdered. He pondered whether Amamiya’s remains could still be found 15 years later, though Akane doubted it, suggesting that wild animals may have already taken them. Aqua also returned to the house where Amamiya had lived, which remained abandoned.
Aqua shared Amamiya’s troubled past with Akane, explaining that the doctor had grown up without a mother. Amamiya’s mother had hidden her pregnancy from her parents and tragically died from an obstetrical hemorrhage.
With no knowledge of his father, Amamiya was raised by his grandparents. The guilt of causing his mother’s death drove Amamiya to pursue medical school and become a surgeon.

As a doctor, Amamiya met Sarina, a terminally ill patient neglected by her parents, who were consumed by their work in the city. This neglect drew Amamiya closer to Sarina.
Before her death, Sarina gave Amamiya her prized B-Komachi keychain, a souvenir from attending one of the idol group’s live performances. She also confessed her feelings to Amamiya, expressing that if she were reincarnated, she would want to be with him.

Later, Aqua and Akane rejoined Ruby’s idol group, which was still hard at work on their music video. Akane advised Aqua to avoid going out in public with Kana, as it could harm her reputation as an idol. She reminded Aqua that idols must maintain privacy, as even a minor scandal could ruin their careers.
Aqua asked Akane to accompany Ruby back to their lodging as the day ended. However, a crow snatched Ruby’s key and flew away.
While chasing after it, Ruby confided in Akane, admitting that she had feelings for an older man. Their pursuit for the key led them to a small shrine with a cave behind it, where they discovered the remains of Amamiya’s body.
